What you need:

  • 1 head cabbage, shredded
  • 2 Granny Smith apples - peeled, cored and sliced
  • 1 medium onion, sliced
  • 1/4 c cider vinegar
  • 1/2 c water
  • 1.5 T sugar
  • 1/2 t salt

What you do:

  • Combine all ingredients into a large skillet and mix.  Bring to a
    simmer, cover and cook for 15 - 20 minutes, stirring
    occasionally.  Great served with smoked or Polish sausage.
