Homemade Red Chili Sauce

 

This easy homemade red chili sauce recipe is perfect for tamales and enchiladas. It’s also a delicious sauce for spicing up your meat or poultry dish.

 

 

What you need:

  • 15 oz can tomato puree
  • 1 t crushed red pepper
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 T olive oil
  • 1/2 t salt
  • dash black pepper


What you do:

  • Combine all ingredients in a small saucepan and mix until smooth.  
  • Bring sauce to a boil.  
  • Reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes.  
  • Use as a sauce for tamales or enchiladas, or to spice up your meat or poultry dish.
