Crock Pot BBQ Ribs and Sauerkraut

 

This quick and easy crock pot bbq ribs and sauerkraut recipe consists of 7 ingredients, including pork spare ribs, beer, and onion.

 

 

What you need:

 

  • 3-4 lbs pork spare ribs
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 2 lbs sauerkraut with caraway seed, rinsed and drained
  • 12 oz beer
  • 2 c barbecue sauce
  • 2-3 T vegetable oil
  • 1/4 t black pepper


What you do:

  • Heat oil in a large skillet.  
  • Add spare ribs and brown on both sides.  
  • Place ribs in a 4 quart or larger slow cooker with sauerkraut and onion.
  • In a medium bowl, combine pepper, barbecue sauce and beer; mix.  
  • Pour sauce over spare ribs and kraut.  
  • Cook, covered, for 8 hours on low.
