Try this easy to make Cajun shrimp recipe. This easy seafood recipe consists of 15 ingredients, including chili powder and tomatoes.
What you need:
- 3/4 lb shrimp, de-veined and unshelled
- 1/2 c green pepper, chopped
- 1/2 c onion, chopped
- 1/2 c celery, chopped
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- 8 oz can tomato sauce
- 141/2 oz can tomatoes
- 2 t cornstarch
- 3 T olive oil
- 1 t salt
- 1/8 t black pepper
- 1 t chili powder
- 1/4 t cayenne/red pepper sauce
- 1 T Worcestershire sauce
- 2 c cooked rice
What you do:
- Heat oil in a large skillet.
- Add onion, garlic, celery and green pepper and cook until slightly tender.
- Add salt, pepper, tomatoes, tomato sauce, chili powder, hot sauce and Worcestershire sauce.
- Simmer for 40 minutes.
- In a small bowl, combine 1 T cold water with cornstarch; mix into sauce.
- Keep simmering, stirring constantly, until sauce thickens.
- Add shrimp and simmer, covered, for 5-6 minutes.
- Serve over rice.
