What you need:

  • 15 oz can tomato puree
  • 1 t crushed red pepper
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 T olive oil
  • 1/2 t salt
  • dash black pepper

What you do:

  • Combine all ingredients in a small saucepan and mix until
    smooth.  Bring sauce to a boil.  Reduce heat and simmer for 10
    minutes.  Use as a sauce for tamales or enchiladas, or to spice
    up your meat or poultry dish.
